How these services work together

Other stories describe supportive housing after long-term homelessness and rehabilitation of Lilac Place to preserve affordable homes. Start with the Housing Helpline for your own situation.
County human-services grants support local organizations connecting residents to food, care, housing, and other support. WellMind and CAT help connect people to behavioral-health services; pregnancy nutrition programs connect food access with health care. Findhelp is a useful starting point when more than one kind of help is needed.
The wildfire and climate stories describe forest thinning and landscape management, home mitigation, safer landscaping, tree planting with continued care, and efficient buildings. The practical steps for a household differ from those for a whole neighborhood; Wildfire Partners and EnergySmart can help you find the right program.
The public-life stories explain election verification, county budgeting, roads and traffic signals, and community service. The commissioners’ message invites residents to stay informed, attend public meetings, and share priorities. Use the current official pages for meetings, voting deadlines, and volunteer openings.
