Editorial Workflow

A repeatable method for Colorado and the next state.

Perfect locally. Extend consistently.

  • Complete District 2’s local contacts and resource directory.
  • Maintain the eight Colorado district pages under the same source standards.
  • Verify city wards, county election methods, school and special-district layers.
  • Add another state’s official maps, offices and local structure.
  • Keep source dates, corrections and versions visible.

Before a page is updated.

Confirm who is serving, which boundary date applies, and what the source actually establishes. Do not infer a local office or voting rule from a congressional district number.

A map-vintage rule worth preserving

TIGERweb’s Current layer can describe the next Congress. Keep serving-member verification separate from map vintage, and use a map explicitly applicable to the relevant Congress.

A source-reading rule worth preserving

On some scraped House directory pages, a state caption follows its table. Check the complete state group and district count before assigning representatives.

Source checks and publication approval are recorded separately. See the update record →
